Mrs. Loide – A Life of Simplicity and Strength
In the small village of Elouna, somewhere above Etosha National Park, there’s a joyful clucking – and it’s not just the chickens. Meme Loide, a strong-hearted woman of grit and grace, has brought her chicken coop to life.
The first round of chicks? Well… they made a delicious appearance as roast chicken on dinner plates.
But now – jackpot! She’s found the right breed for laying eggs. And Meme Loide? She’s up early, swinging her feed bucket, counting her eggs with pride.
A small step for a hen – a big step for Meme Loide’s independence.
Abandoned women must rely on their own strength to survive. The government pension of N$1600 (around CHF 70) helps – but it barely covers the basics.
Partnering for Independence
We’ve entered into an agreement with Mrs. Loide. The Foundation/Goods4Life has covered the costs for the chicken coop, the vegetable shelter, 40 chicks, feed, medication, and the first plants.
Mrs. Loide receives guidance and ongoing support from the Foundation.
After two years, she will begin repaying the investment in small instalments.
