Sewing studio in DRC - a joint venture

In collaboration with Anja Rohwer and her Katutura project.

The sewing studio in the heart of DRC opened its doors in early 2023. It is only one part of the new Community Center, which was completed at the end of 2022.

Self-empowerment

At the beginning of February, six women were able to start their stage as seamstresses in the sewing workshop at the women's center in DRC Township. The women are enormously motivated and eager to learn.

Share in the profit

The women share in the profits on a pro rata basis. In this way, they gradually learn how to finance their lives with an income.

 

Mothers are allowed to take their children to the center

A stage for the mothers - Education for their children

Not only sewing is done here, but also cooking. In the four classrooms, many girls and boys are taught by experienced teachers. In addition, the mothers who work there can have their small children looked after and cared for in the kindergarten.
